Br. Paul Richards, OSB founded the Benedictine Volunteer Corps in 2003 after noticing two things. First, the college did not have many students doing volunteer work. Second, during his sabbatical in 1998-99, Br. Paul visited many monasteries and noticed that everybody needs help, everybody has room, and everybody has food. With Br. Paul’s ingenuity, along with the willingness of monasteries and a few young men, the BVC was born.
